Astria vs Eti Image: Photoshop Plugin Comparison

AI fashion production

Eti Image is the broadest bring-your-own-key panel you can install in Photoshop. Seedream, Nano Banana, GPT Image, Flux, Qwen and WAN sit in one dropdown, with Magnific and Topaz upscalers beside them, all running on your own Replicate, Kie.ai or Google keys. For most Photoshop professionals, the Astria Nano Banana plugin for Photoshop is the better buy. One hosted Astria key authenticates every model in the panel. New models appear without a plugin update, and every result lands as a Smart Object at the model's full returned resolution. Choose Eti Image only if you already fund Replicate or Kie.ai accounts and want the widest possible model menu inside one panel.

How we evaluated Astria and Eti Image

Five questions a retoucher actually asks: which current models are in the panel and how fast a new one reaches it; what comes back into the document (returned resolution, layer type, selection handling); how the edit runs from selection to layer; what it costs to start and to keep using, and whether that is a subscription, pay-as-you-go or your own API keys; who maintains it; and, because a hero is rarely the whole job, what lies behind the panel. Eti Image facts come from its public product page, read on September 13, 2026; we did not buy or run it.

Eti Image: the widest bring-your-own-key menu in a Photoshop panel

Eti Image is a CCX/UXP panel built by Pouya Eti for Photoshop 2023 or later on macOS and Windows. Its product page lists seventeen generation and editing models and ten enhancement and analysis tools, twenty-seven entries in all, spanning Seedream, Nano Banana, GPT Image, Flux, Qwen and WAN plus Magnific, Topaz and other upscale, relight and expand tools.

None of it runs on a hosted Eti Image account. You bring a Replicate, Kie.ai or Google AI Studio key, and the page maps each model to its provider. Replicate serves most of the roster; Kie.ai serves GPT Image 2 at 4K, WAN 2.7, Qwen 2.0 and Nano Banana 2 Lite; Google serves Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro only. The Magnific tools need a paid Magnific subscription on top.

Eti Image offers tiered licensing. The higher tier adds fast actions on Seedream 5 Pro, premium upscalers, the Magnific skin, relight and expand tools, and a prompt library. The panel also runs one prompt across several models in parallel, places results as layers masked to the selection since version 3.0.0 (August 2026), and includes a Product Views generator. Check the vendor page for current licence and refund terms.

Astria: one key, every current model, Smart Objects at full resolution

The Astria Nano Banana plugin for Photoshop is a CCX/UXP panel for Photoshop 2025 (version 26 and later) on macOS and Windows. It carries six current models: GPT Image 2 from OpenAI, mask-aware at 1K, 2K or 4K; Nano Banana 2 on Gemini 3.1; Nano Banana Pro on Gemini 3 Pro; Seedream 5 Pro; Seedream 5; and Flux 2 Pro.

Three things separate it from a bring-your-own-key panel. The model list is served by the Astria platform, so a model added to Astria appears in the panel the day it launches, with no plugin update or re-download. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and Flare and Muse Image are already on the platform. The workflow is three steps: select with the marquee, lasso, brush or colour range, prompt, generate. Mask-aware models read the selection directly, references dropped into the panel act as visual instructions, and the model is chosen per task from one dropdown. And each generation is placed as a Smart Object holding the model's full returned resolution.

The Astria plugin uses a one-time licence with hosted usage billed separately. One key authenticates every model, and Astria abstracts the Google, OpenAI, fal and ByteDance APIs so quota, authentication and retries are invisible. Or paste a Google AI Studio key into the panel for the Gemini models. No GPU is needed. Check the Astria pricing page for current terms.

Public proof, with provenance

Eti Image's page states that more than 2,100 creators use the plugin and more than 157,000 images have been generated through it, both vendor-stated. It also counts 21 or more releases since October 2025 and links Pouya Eti's YouTube channel. Search for "seedream photoshop" and much of the first page is YouTube, with Pouya Eti's tutorials among the videos that rank, so a retoucher looking for a Seedream Photoshop plugin meets Eti Image early.

Astria's landing page reports 16,000 sales and 187 ratings, first-party figures too, and carries seven production reels: fashion edits with references, bridal retouching, sketch and CAD to photo, product design, real estate, hair and clothing swaps, and packaging.

A realistic job: one campaign hero, then the other 40 SKUs

Take a footwear campaign hero. The art director wants the shoes swapped for the new colourway from a reference shot, the background extended so the frame survives a 4:5 crop, and a phone removed from the model's hand.

Running it in Eti Image

First, decide which provider serves the models you want and fund it. Nano Banana Pro for the shoe swap runs on Replicate or a Google key; GPT Image 2 runs on Replicate, or through Kie.ai for 4K; Magnific Expand for the background needs the Pro tier and a Magnific subscription. With the keys in, the edit is what you would expect: select the shoes, drop in the reference, prompt, and the result returns as a layer masked to the selection. The parallel mode can run the same swap across Seedream 5 Pro, Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2 at once so you pick the best. Whether the returned layer is a Smart Object, and whether it holds more pixels than the selection covers, is not stated on the product page.

Running it in Astria

Sign up, generate an Astria key, top up, paste it into the panel. That is the whole provider setup, for every model. Lasso the shoes, drop the colourway reference into the panel, pick Nano Banana Pro from the dropdown for its subject consistency, and generate; the new shoes land as a Smart Object at the model's full returned resolution. Enlarge the canvas to 4:5, marquee the new band, and generate the extension with a mask-aware model that reads the selection directly. Select the phone and the hand around it and prompt the removal; the bridal reel on the landing page shows that exact job. Short prompts win.

And the other 40 SKUs

The campaign has forty more shoes that need the same treatment, and this is where the two products stop resembling each other. Eti Image ends at the panel, so every SKU is another Photoshop session. The Astria key that paid for the hero also drives Astria workspaces, templates and the API, so the approved look runs across the rest of the collection outside Photoshop while the panel is kept for the hero and the fix. See Astria for ecommerce.

The differences that matter most

Model breadth, upscalers and parallel runs — winner: Eti Image

This is Eti Image's real advantage, stated once and plainly. Twenty-seven entries in the panel, including families Astria does not carry (Qwen, WAN, Flux 2 Max and Klein, Flux Kontext), upscalers to 16×, Magnific relight and expand for Pro owners, a Product Views generator, and one prompt fired at several models in parallel. It also runs on Photoshop 2023, two major versions below Astria's floor, and comes with a 14-day refund where Astria offers none. If those are the things you would use every day, and you already hold the provider accounts to feed them, Eti Image is the more capable toolbox.

One hosted key versus three provider accounts — winner: Astria

Eti Image's breadth is paid for in accounts. Its provider map sends different models to Replicate, Kie.ai and Google, and its Magnific tools to a fourth subscription. Each is a sign-up, a payment method, a balance and a key to paste, and a model whose provider you have not funded sits in the dropdown unusable until you do. Astria collapses that to one key and one balance: GPT Image 2, the Gemini models, Seedream and Flux all authenticate through it, and the plugin handles the upstream APIs so a quota error at Google or a retry at fal never reaches you.

New-model lead time — winner: Astria

Eti Image ships models as releases. Its changelog shows Nano Banana 2 arriving in version 2.5.0 on February 28, 2026, GPT Image 2 in 2.5.6 on April 22, 2026, and Seedream 5 Pro in 2.6.0 on July 8, 2026, and the page states about three days from model launch to support. It is still a plugin update installed from a downloaded .ccx file. Astria's panel does not carry its own roster: the list is served by the platform, so a model added to Astria appears with no update to install. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and Flare and Muse Image are already there.

Returned resolution and layer type — winner: Astria

Eti Image's page says results arrive as a layer pre-masked to the selection. It does not say whether that layer is a Smart Object or holds more pixels than the selection covers, so both are not publicly verified. Astria places every generation as a Smart Object holding the model's full returned resolution. Scale a 4K swap into a small selection today and re-transform it larger tomorrow, and the pixels are still there. For a hero re-cropped for three channels, that is one generation instead of three.

Cost to start and cost to keep — winner: Astria

Astria needs one hosted balance to start, while Eti Image requires the provider accounts used by its chosen models and tools. Compare the same representative workload on Eti Image's product page, the relevant provider pricing pages, and Astria's pricing page. Account complexity is the fixed part of the decision and favors Astria.

Production beyond the document — winner: Astria

Eti Image is a panel and stops at the panel. Astria's panel is the front end of a platform: the same key and balance run workspaces, templates and the API. Photoshop for the hero and the fix, Astria workspaces for the rest of the collection. Our AI fashion photoshoot guide covers that side.

Choose Eti Image if...

  • You already fund Replicate or Kie.ai accounts and prefer to pay those providers directly.
  • Qwen, WAN, Flux 2 Max or Flux Kontext are models you rely on inside Photoshop.
  • Upscalers, Magnific relight and expand, and parallel multi-model runs are daily work.
  • You are on Photoshop 2023 or 2024 and cannot move to 2025.
  • A 14-day refund window matters to you.

Choose Astria if...

  • You want GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2 and Pro, Seedream 5 and 5 Pro, and Flux 2 Pro on one key with no provider accounts to open.
  • You want new models the day they reach Astria, with no plugin update or re-download.
  • Returned pixels should live in a full-resolution Smart Object so a swap can be re-cropped later.
  • A hosted pay-as-you-go balance fits how you buy tools.
  • The other forty SKUs need a production route behind the panel.

The bottom line

Eti Image is the broadest bring-your-own-key panel we reviewed, and for someone already running Replicate and Kie.ai accounts it is a capable toolbox.

For the Photoshop professional putting current models into a live document, Astria is the better buy. One hosted key replaces several provider accounts, new models arrive without a re-download, and every result is a Smart Object at the resolution the model returned. Behind the panel sits the production route for everything that is not the hero.

What to test before choosing

Open one PSD with a hero that needs a reference-driven swap and a 4:5 extension. In each plugin, make the same selection with the same reference and prompt, and generate with Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2 and Seedream 5 Pro at the highest setting. Read the returned layer's pixel dimensions, note whether it is a Smart Object, and scale it up 200 percent to see whether it resamples. Count the accounts opened, keys pasted and balances funded before the first generation ran. Then price the hero and forty follow-on SKUs at the per-image rates each route actually charges, rejected attempts included.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Eti Image Photoshop plugin worth buying instead of Astria?

Only for a specific buyer. Eti Image fits someone who already funds Replicate or Kie.ai accounts and will use its wider model menu, upscalers and parallel multi-model runs every week. For most retouchers, Astria covers the current models that matter on one hosted key, adds new models without an update, and places results as full-resolution Smart Objects.

Do I need a Replicate or Kie.ai account to use Eti Image?

You need at least one of Replicate, Kie.ai or Google AI Studio, and which one depends on the model. The Google key serves only the Nano Banana models, GPT Image 2 at 4K goes through Kie.ai, and most of the rest runs on Replicate. The Magnific tools need a separate Magnific subscription. Astria needs one Astria key for every model, or optionally a Google key for the Gemini models.

Which plugin gets a new model first?

Astria's panel reads its model list from the Astria platform, so a model added to Astria appears in the panel with no plugin update; GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and Flare and Muse Image are already on the platform. Eti Image adds models through numbered plugin releases installed from a downloaded .ccx file, and its page states about three days from model launch to support (vendor-stated).

Can I use my Gemini subscription with either plugin?

No. Google only authorises external apps through API keys, so a consumer Gemini subscription works in neither plugin. Both accept a Google AI Studio key for the Nano Banana models. Astria also offers a hosted path in which one Astria key covers every model and you never open a Google billing account.

Is Astria better than Eti Image?

For a Photoshop professional putting current generative models into a live document, yes. One hosted Astria key replaces several provider accounts, new models arrive without a re-download, results land as full-resolution Smart Objects, and the same key drives Astria workspaces and the API for the rest of the catalog. Eti Image is the better purchase only if model breadth, upscalers and parallel runs on your own keys outweigh that.
